So I'm going to add my reviews and blogs on the yeastier side of the map, BEER!
I know appearances are everything but please don't write me off at first glance as so many do these days. There is a lot of perspective I can offer and enjoy offering to those around me. Read, learn, enjoy, go try new things and broaden your horizons. I love food (that includes the beverages that go along with it) and Dance so those are the things I will promote.
Here is my first one:
My review on OMB (Olde Meck Brewery) Dunkel
The very knowledgeable Mr. Dustin was able to catch my interest in this beer. The word Dunkel means dark in German but this beer is still a nice amber color.
***
Dunkel, or Dunkles, is a type of dark German lager. Dunkel is the German word meaning dark, and dunkel beers typically range in colour from amber to dark reddish brown. They are characterized by their smooth malty flavour.[1]
***
Don't get distracted by the word dark as that has to do with the roasting process not necesarily the color for this beer. Dunkels are a Munich style beer if you like to know the location of beer types. OMB Dunkel is light in weight and made my tongue happy. It has sparkling and bubbly qualities which at first glance are not normally what I expect a beer. There is absolutely no bite or bitter aftertaste. The color is a nice hearty amber color. The kind of soothing amber to red color that reminds me of my friend, Camerin's, red hair; a pleasant color. So when you see dunkel don't always think dark or bitter, think possibilities for newness.

Birdsong Jalapeno Beer. Who would have thought!!
This brings many different ideas of what might it taste like. Will it be spicy or weird or multi layed with lots of fail moments and then you're hit with pungent waxy jalapeno. But I can tell you from a person who doesn't like spicy foods or Jalapenos, I was super surprised.Birdsong went far in their investigation on how to put this together and it might have been a lucky shot but whatever it was it was a successful gamble. Kudos to them.
My review of this Jalapeno Beer is as follows:
Sweet, amber in color, not hoppy at all compared to other pale ales, the sweeter, spicier Jalapeno is very present but not in a shocking way. The essence is Spicy and FUN. Surprisingly a brand new favorite!
Now I'm not yet a super beer snob who understands these numbers and stats but I'm still in my learning stages but those of you who understand this then you will appreciate these stats.
